About Graham

Graham's Story
Born in 1956 and now living in the beautiful Eden Valley, Cumbria, with the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales close by, is simply perfect for me as a now mostly retired landscape photographer. I recently switched from DSLR to digital medium format with the Fujifilm GFX system, which I am enjoying getting to grips with!

Ancient History...
In what now seems like another life, my lucky break came when I was put forward as the photographic author for the book "Anthony Hopkins' Snowdonia", produced in conjunction with the National Trust Snowdonia Appeal. There then came two further books: "The Yorkshire Dales" with writer and broadcaster Richard Mabey (Food for Free, Flora Britannica, Nature Cure), and "England - The Nature of the Land" a celebration of the English National Nature Reserves, in collaboration with Natural England. As a result of this, some photographs were featured on the BBC Countryfile program while I chatted with John Craven!

I have been a landscape photographer for so long that many of my images were taken on film and have since been converted to digital. During this process, they have carried with them the graininess of the original slide, which seems to have been enhanced by the detail of digital imagery! Still, I make no apologies for this, many of my favourite images were from my 35mm film days. Pure nostalgia.
